FAMILY REUNION - LAKESIDE (Sweetwater Creek - GA)

LAKE WATER (Don't worry.. it is not really water from the lake!)
How to make "lake water"
- 2 packets of green koolaid
- 2 cups sugar
- warm water
Directions:
make & chill until ready to serve!
I put a NEW pack of fishing bobbers in mine! SO cute!

Lanterns, aqua colored items, & things wrapped in twine are always cute for the LAKESIDE theme!

MUST HAVES:
+ Fishing net to cover cute tablecloth
+ Fish decor
+ Empty food cans (covered with card stock & labels)
- I placed pretzel rods in one can as edible "fishing rods" and candy o's in another as edible "life preserves" - they were a hit!
+ Empty candy dish filled with gumballs as edible "fishing bobbers"
+ of course we had a candy bowl filled with gummy worms, gummy sharks and other candies!
+ And Michaels Craft Store has a ton of cute chalkboards to write whatever you please on them :)
+ And I love the natural wood crates I found at Ross - I placed the bbq sandwich and hotdog buns in them :)
What is the lake without SMORES essentials?
Nuff' Said!
Drinks & Cookie Cake!
Yes, it was Mother's day weekend.. I am a little late posting!
Sorry y'all!
"FAMILY TREE CUPCAKES"
I made the cakes into the shape of a tree and decorated them to suite our decor and theme!
Perfect for a family reunion!
Of course I had to bring my Homemade Cheesy Slow Cooker Creamed Corn! It is such a fabulous recipe, that everyone LOVES! Click the picture & check it out! Let me know how you like it!
We had our family reunion at Sweetwater Creek State Park & had a wonderful time! We went fishing, went out on john boats, swam in the creek, hiked the trails and enjoyed good food and family time!
(Timmy & I had our wedding and reception on this beautiful lake in 2014! It felt so good to spend time here again with family & friends and each other! So many precious memories)
(My Stepdad, Grandpa, and Mom on the lake in a john boat)
We really enjoyed our time at Sweetwater Creek State Park!
It is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
It is so peaceful! With a museum, hiking trails, the river, the lake, the yurts, the boat and paddleboard rentals.. you can have as much fun as you like. The Hunger Games filmed here right after our wedding, if that tells you anything.. simply beautiful.
